ART-TREAT
action/performance
Hungary, 2013.
“I don’t think anyone could tell me for how long an artwork should have been observed. It’s happened to me many times that even I carefully watched a picture, a work, but I did not remember it precisely, I missed some important part of it. I do not know where for me the right place is I can totally take in an art-creation. Hoping to find answers these questions above, I begin a kind of ritual, or action....”
29/04/2012 (Detail of the text for my work)
My action is focusing on a particular art-work in the right place it has been created for, in a museum. I do not do anything else but go the museum at the opening hour, choose an exhibition and in there I stand a front of the one single artwork then I observe it for all day long until the museum closed.
Until today the action has been repeated for four times in the Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest; the Hungarian National Gallery; in the Kunsthalle, Budapest; in Ludwig Museum Budapest.
After each action I write an essay, in which I recall the things that happened to me and my thought
The action is not documented; I only record the noises from the surrounding by a Dictaphone.
